Beech in stick

February 2007 : We managed to to get a large section of the beech tree back to the workshop.

Thanks to a local farmer we managed to get an eight foot section of the tree back to the workshop. It sat for a few weeks until Dave "Digger" Whorton could come with his mobile saw to mill the log.
The timber is now in stick in the woodstore, seasoning. Whilst not a popular wood for fine furniture this beech has some lovely brown figuring and I am looking forward to working with it when the time comes.
