This piece was commissioned for a client in Somerset specifically for his living room, to display collected glassware on the lower shelves with useful drawer space above. The brief was for elegant proportions and interesting but subtle details. The wood was very carefully chosen: the shelves and top are book-matched and the drawer fronts are a continuous grain pattern. An extravagant use of highly figured English Walnut appears in the drawer sides - a nice surprise on opening. |
