This was a speculative piece subsequently bought by a client and friend in Oxford. It was inspired by an oak cabinet that we have in our house and was a chance for me to use the band sawn technique that I had been experimenting with. I like the contrast of smooth and sawn surfaces and the way they react differently to light and waxing. The English Ash is highly figured and comes from trees felled in Devon over 10 years ago. |
