A client commissioned this box as a christmas gift for his wife. We decided to go for a light coloured wood and a modern, tactile design. There are no catches, locks or handles; the lid is retained by hinges with a built-in stay and the drawer handles are an integral part of the fronts. Handcut dovetails and scented cedar drawer bottoms are further features.
The creamy sycamore has a silky feel and contrasts well with the walnut details and suede lining. |
